Stellar Smiles Ortho Celebrates Local Educators Across Grapevine-Colleyville ISD
This spring, Stellar Smiles Ortho launched a heartfelt community initiative called “Coins of Honor | Honoring Those Who Serve Young Minds” — a teacher appreciation campaign created to recognize the dedication, service, and lasting impact of local educators throughout the Grapevine-Colleyville community.
Inspired by Dr. J’s background in the United States Marine Corps and the long-standing military tradition of challenge coins, the initiative was designed to honor teachers in a meaningful and memorable way.
Over the course of Teacher Appreciation Week, Stellar Smiles Ortho visited approximately 450 full-time teachers and staff members across seven local schools, personally delivering commemorative Coins of Honor and handwritten appreciation cards. In addition, each full-time educator received complimentary retainers and professional whitening services — a combined value of approximately $650 per teacher — along with discounted orthodontic treatment opportunities for teachers and their immediate family members.

- Grapevine Elementary
- Grapevine Middle School
- Silver Lake Elementary
- Bear Creek Elementary
- Cross Timbers Middle School
- Timberline Elementary
The response from teachers, staff members, PTAs, and school leadership was overwhelmingly positive, with several schools sharing the initiative across their social media platforms and newsletters.
At Grapevine Middle School, the PTA shared:
“Some traditions are too meaningful to keep within the military alone.”
Silver Lake Elementary described the initiative as recognizing:
“the dedication, heart, and impact our teachers and staff have on our kids.”
Many educators shared how meaningful the coins were to receive, with one teacher commenting:
“This coin is a reminder that what we do matters — every single day.”
Another shared:
“It represents the relationships and impact we build with our students.”
For Dr. J and the Stellar Smiles Ortho team, the campaign was about more than orthodontics — it was about recognizing service.
“Teachers dedicate their lives to helping children grow with confidence, discipline, and purpose,” said Dr. J. “That kind of commitment deserves to be recognized and honored. This was simply our way of saying thank you.”
The Coins of Honor initiative reflects Stellar Smiles Ortho’s continued commitment to supporting local schools, educators, families, and the broader community through service-driven outreach and meaningful partnerships.
