Grapevine, TX – At Stellar Smiles Ortho, service, dedication, and community are at the heart of everything we do – both inside and outside the office. This week, one of our valued team members, Saul Gonzalez Cano, shared a powerful moment of camaraderie and recognition with a local firefighter at the Grapevine Fire Department.
Saul, a U.S. Army veteran who served as a 68W Combat Medic, recently visited the fire department where he crossed paths with another veteran who also served as a combat medic. In a gesture of respect and shared brotherhood, Saul presented him with a Veteran’s Challenge Coin – a token traditionally given in the military to honor service, build morale, and signify mutual respect.
“Meeting someone who walked a similar path in service is always special,” Saul said. “Giving him the coin was my way of saying ‘thank you’ and recognizing the sacrifices we both made.”
The exchange not only highlights Saul’s ongoing commitment to honoring fellow veterans but also reflects the values of Stellar Smiles Ortho: integrity, compassion, and community support.
“We’re incredibly proud to have Saul on our team,” said Dr. J, owner of the practice. “His dedication to helping others doesn’t stop with his military service—it continues every day with our patients and community.”
This touching moment serves as a reminder that bonds formed in service extend far beyond the battlefield—and sometimes, they happen right in our own backyard.
